Nicholas Gregory Tomaiuolo, loving and beloved father and grandfather, peacefully passed away at home in Jacksonville, Florida on the morning of January 9, 2024. Son of the late Carmen and Victoria Tomaiuolo, Nick was born on June 30, 1955, in Hartford, Connecticut. A 65-year resident of Wethersfield, Connecticut, Nick was a published author, lifetime learner and teacher, skilled musician, and avid lover of puzzles and games. A retiree after 25 years of service as a professor and librarian at Central Connecticut State University and 18 years at the University of Maryland.
Nick leaves his beloved daughter, Kristin Tomaiuolo, granddaughter, Hannah and son-in-law, Dylan Leon, of Jacksonville, Florida, and his son, Ben Tomaiuolo and fiancée Justine McNamara of Brooklyn, New York. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Marc and Linda Tomaiuolo, and nephew Max of Glastonbury, Connecticut, along with innumerable cousins, friends, and other relatives.
Nick loved rock music, and he loved to play his guitar and sing. He loved family dinners (chicken cutlets and baked ziti) and time spent together with his children, friends and loved ones. He loved quiet time to read, contemplate, and pray. He was a devout Catholic and lifelong communicant at Incarnation Church in Wethersfield.
Funeral services and burial will be private. No calling hours will be held. The D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield has been entrusted with the arrangements.
