Lucy Lopez

Lucy R. Lopez, 85, of Hartford, beloved wife of Fidel V. Lopez, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2020 at the Reservoir of West Hartford. Lucy was born in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico on June 29, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Guillermo Ramirez and Petra Rodriguez. Lucy worked for American Linen of Hartford for over 20 years where she made many friends. Lucy was truly devoted to her family, she welcomed relatives and friends into her home where she loved to share her culinary treats. She especially loved to sing along with her husband as he played his guitar. She was the happiest when surrounded by her family and friends.

A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, she will be missed by her husband of 65 years, Fidel. She will also be missed by her daughter Sonia L. Gagne, sisters Margarita Rodriguez and Ana Leon, her brothers William Ramirez and Jose Luis Ramirez and her many cherished grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Lucy was sadly predeceased by two sons, Reinaldo Lopez and Ismael Lopez.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, October 16th from 10-11 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Prayer service will be held at 11 a.m., burial will immediately follow at Mt. Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
