Linda Eckert

Linda Eckert, 83, of West Hartford, passed away at her home on Monday, October 23, 2023. Born in Waterbury on December 17, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Harold William Eckert, Sr. and Flora Mae (Winters) Eckert. She grew up and attended school in Hartford before moving to West Hartford in 1982. Linda had a long career with Aetna Insurance Company and moved steadily up the ranks before retiring with 45 years of service. She loved animals of fur and feather and had several pets that were very dear to her. Linda was skilled at knitting, crocheting and needlepoint projects which she gifted to many family and friends. Although she never had children of her own, Linda was blessed with a multitude of nieces and nephews from her four siblings. Through the years, she played a pivotal role in the upbringing of many of her siblings’ children and grandchildren, especially her grand-nephew Richard Duckworth. Linda was "Auntie" to 17 nieces and nephews and at least 22 grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Beverly (Bradstreet) Carter, Shirley (Bradstreet) Anzardi, Marshall Bradstreet, Sr. and Carol (Eckert) Ciccaglione. Linda will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday (November 3rd) at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. True to Linda’s wishes, casual attire is requested. Words of Remembrance will be shared at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place privately in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
