It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Stack Trantolo, 62, of Wethersfield. She left us suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at home with her husband, son and siblings by her side. Born in Wethersfield on April 27, 1961, to Anita Vignola Stack and Austin ‘Ozzie’ J. Stack, Joan was always surrounded by a large and extended family. She went on to build a family of her own when she married John Trantolo on November 4, 1988, and they welcomed their beloved son, Nathan, both of whom she loved dearly and was ceaselessly devoted to. Joan attended Corpus Christi School and graduated from South Catholic High School in 1979. She then went on to attend the The College of New Rochelle graduating in 1983, often spending summers working at Franklin Distributors, the family business based in South Windsor. With a career spanning over 30 years, Joan dedicated herself to The Hartford, where she served as an HR executive, later transitioning to several years of consulting before her retirement in 2022. Joan was an industrious soul who seamlessly balanced her dedication to work with an unquenchable love for travel, inspiring us all to find purpose in both our pursuits and our adventures. Spain, Ireland, Portugal, the list is long and was ever-growing. During summers, Joanie would be found on The Spit in Mashpee, enjoying the company of her best friends, Mary, Donna, Fred, Dave and Jane. She was not only a cherished friend, but also a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt with the most generous heart and giving spirit. She will be deeply missed.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, John Trantolo, and their son, Nathan Trantolo, both of Wethersfield. She is also survived by her parents, Anita Vignola Stack and Austin ‘Ozzie’ J. Stack, who reside in Hobe Sound, Florida.
