Christopher DellaFera, 49, beloved husband to Jessica (Borges) DellaFera, of South Windsor, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 31, 2024. Born in Hartford, he was the youngest son of Trina Marie (Scata) DellaFera and the late John Thomas DellaFera.
Chris began his career as a splicer at SNET in 1996. He had a natural intellect and drive that led him to grow his career in communications that spanned thirty years, most recently at Frontier Communications. Growing up in the South End of Hartford, he had a bond with his childhood friends that lasted a lifetime and he continued to make friends everywhere he went.
Chris was an exceptional human being – he was creative, had a quick wit, was an excellent cook, and looked out for everyone. He had the biggest smile and biggest personality. He was the most loving husband, true friend and a devoted father. He loved coaching little league, basketball and football. He would show off his DJ skills when calling the games. One of the many amazing DellaFera traits that Chris embodied, was being a man of his word. He was fiercely honest, but he delivered it in his own style. Some of Chris’ loves were the 49ers, the Red Sox, fantasy football, Pearl Jam, Broadway musicals, concerts and art of all kinds. His greatest love was Jessica and his sons.
In addition to his loving wife, Jessica and his mother, Trina, Chris is survived by and will be dearly missed by his two adored sons; Christopher Antonio DellaFera and Jesse Leandro DellaFera, his siblings; Daniel DellaFera; John DellaFera and his fiancé Michelle Giliberto; Michael DellaFera and his wife Michele (Urciuoli); his sister-in-law, Fanita Velez and her husband Abe; Amy Indomenico and her husband Joe. Chris is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Joey, Daniel, Isabelle, John, Dylan, Alexa, Anthony, Haley, Matthew, Dominick and Ava. He is also survived by his two loyal companions, Taco and Vedder. He also leaves behind a large extended family, his sports family, his colleagues and many friends. In addition to his father, Chris was predeceased by his brother, Joseph DellaFera.
