Albert “Al” A. Lecrenier,100, long standing resident of Wethersfield, loving husband to the late Charlotte (Shipman) Lecrenier, peacefully passed away, Thursday, December 5, 2024, with his family at his side. Born in New Britain, son to the late Francis and Martha (Zielke) Lecrenier and brother to the late Enantha Warner.
He graduated from Mt. Hermon School (now Northfield Mt. Hermon) in 1942, continuing his education, graduating from Wesleyan University in 1948. Albert served our country during WWII as an Airplane pilot of a B-24 Bomber with the 7th Air Force, 494th Bomb Group (Kelly’s Cobras) in the Pacific. He spent his working career with the Aetna Life & Casualty Co. until his retirement in 1986. Al was an active member and Deacon Emeritus of the First Church of Christ in Wethersfield. He spent many years as a volunteer for Hartford Habitat for Humanity.
Albert is survived by two sons, Reed Lecrenier of East Haddam and Venice, FL and Robert Lecrenier of Wethersfield; a sister-in-law, Jean Shipman of Aiken, SC, along with many special nieces and nephews, and their children.
Inurnment will be Monday, December 16, at 1:00 p.m. in Village Cemetery, (Pratt Section), Wethersfield, with Pastor Todd Willard officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Bashan Lake Association, 12 Fieldstone Dr., East Haddam, CT 06423.
