Thomas Joseph Barry

Thomas Joseph “Tom” Barry passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his home in Florida. He was born November 18th 1938 to Steven and Margaret Barry in the Bronx, New York. On November 9, 1963, he married Jean Dalrymple and together they lived in Hillsdale for 35 years where they raised their family. His family was of utmost importance to him. Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jean; Daughter Christine (Barry) Sielicki; Son, Thomas Joseph Barry Jr.; Brother Jim (Al) Barry; Sister Eileen (Barry) McGloin; and five grandchildren; Jack, Lauren, Brynn, Alexa and Evan. His greatest joy was his pride in the achievement and success of his children and being called Grandpa. Despite a spinal cord injury which left him in a wheelchair, he was still able to enjoy life. He died a happy man and will be missed. Visitation will be held Monday, December 15th from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Becker Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, December 16th at 11am at St. John the Baptist Church, Hillsdale, NJ. He will be laid to rest at Westwood Cemetery, Westwood, NJ.
