SMALL, Richard G., 68, of Montvale, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. He was born in New York City to Gardner and Kathleen Small and always had an affection for the Manhattan of his childhood. With more than a ‘small’ sense of humor, he warmed the lives of everyone around him. From journalist to public relations counsel, community theater to the expansive love his kids and grandchildren will always remember, Rich’s kindness and generosity touched everyone he met. Beloved, cherished husband of Mari Small. Devoted father and step-father of David Small and his wife Polly, Kerri Beekman and her husband Phil, Christopher Small, Gina Tantsits and her husband John, Eric Szonyi and his wife Erin, Christa Zimmermann and her husband Dave. Dear brother of Carol McGall and John Small. Loving grandfather of Alyssa, Taylor, Colin, Brayden, Sean, Cole, Annabelle and Charlie. Cherished uncle of Robert Perlitz. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Monday, October 19 from 2-4 and 7-9PM with a service celebrating Rich’s life and faith beginning at 7PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Rich’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
