Michael Cavallo

Michael Cavallo, 79 of the Township of Washington, NJ passed away on September 3, 2014. Born and raised in Garfield, NJ, he moved to the Township of Washington 48 years ago. Michael was a self-employed Electrical Contractor for 56 years and owner of Able Electric Co. in Garfield since 1964. Michael was a corporal in the US Army tank cavalry radio communications in Ft. Dix and Ft. Benning. He was a member of the New Jersey Builder’s Association, a founding member of the Washington Twp. Italian-American Club, Washington Twp. Planning Board for 13 years, the Kiwanis International and the Lions Club. Michael was predeceased by his daughter, Caren Cavallo-Pastena; his father Frank Cavallo; his father-in-law, Lawrence Venturi and his mother–in-law, Edna Watson Venturi. Michael is survived by his wife of 53 years, Josephine Venturi-Cavallo; his daughter, Tracy Cavallo-Salerno and her husband Peter; his grandchildren, Anthony Salerno and his wife Eve Turner-Salerno, Gabrielle Salerno and her fiancé Brian Mayer; his honorary grandson Frank A. Husarek; his mother, R. Adeline Muro-Cavallo; his brothers Frank Cavallo, Jr. and Rocco Cavallo and his wife Judy; his brother-in-law, William Venturi and his wife Eileen; his nieces and nephews, Kimberly Cavallo-Campigotto and her husband Walter and their sons Matthew and Michael, Jeffrey M. Cavallo, Lawrence Venturi and his wife Deborah and their children Kelly and Dominick, Jill Venturi-Abdinoor and many loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral from the Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ on Monday 9:30am with a 10:30am funeral mass at St. Andrew’s Church, Westwood. Entombment will follow in Garden of Memories, Twp. of Washington. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday 2-4 & 7-9pm and Sunday 4-8pm at the funeral home.
