Maryann Smith

Maryann Smith, of Hillsdale, NJ, passed away on Friday, November 24th, 2023. Maryann was predeceased by her husband Edward J. Smith and her parents Mildred and Anthony Caporino. She is survived by her son Kenneth Smith and his wife Susan; her daughters Judith Farrell and her husband James and Tracey Sloane and her husband Bruce; her five grandchildren Bryan Smith, Brianna Smith, Kelly Farrell, Colleen Farrell and Samantha Sloane as well as her brother Gerard Caporino and his wife Amy.

Maryann loved life, but loved her family and friends above all else. She loved without judgement or condition and welcomed everyone she met into her heart. She had an infectious laugh and lovable sense of humor. She believed her children and grandchildren were her greatest accomplishment and treasured every moment. She lived her life loving them and making sure everyone around her knew how proud she was of them. In her free time, she loved cooking for everyone (Her Eggplant Parmesan was one of her most requested dishes), she loved hopping in the car to visit friends at the shore and driving to the outlets looking for the best possible deals. She loved catching up with friends and family that have moved away. Maryann loved and absolutely adored her cat Molly and enjoyed playing with her.

The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ on Thursday, November 30th, from 4-8PM. A Mass celebrating Maryann's life and faith will be held at St. John The Baptist R.C. Church on Friday, December 1st at 11:30AM with private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Maryann’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital @ StJude.Org/Donate.
