So many wonderful memories, vacations, holidays and surprise visits at Christmas.  I will always remember the fun times we had but most of all Kevin's way of making us laugh even after camping in the rain for 3 days straight. I consider myself blessed to have had such a  wonderful friend. 

Kevin was inclusive before inclusive was politically correct.  He was a man of conviction and humility.   He was human social glue.   He was tough and never complained.  That is how I will remember Kevin. 

My first interaction with Kevin had to do with little league baseball in the sixth grade.   I cannot recall all the details, but the part that stays with me is that Kevin accepted me.  

The next year at Kawaheeh junior high, Kevin and I were the only two seventh graders on the football team.   To say that we took a few beatings is an understatement.  That bond is one I will always cherish.   It is funny how a common butt-whooping links two young men together.

I was lucky enough to spend some time at the Kelly beach house.   I pulled Kevin into fishing with me, and his mom probably thought I was nuts.   Kevin let me have my way.   He was a true friend and would do anything for you and would share in your excitement.

Cos Lorusso and Gregg Abate joined the football team in eighth grade.  From that point, the four of us became good friends.   In the early years, we hung out a lot together.   Joker nights were common, and many hours were spent in the Kelly family basement shooting pool.   The four of us went through a street hockey faze that included some great laughs, some fights and outstanding sub sandwiches over at Mr. Sub.   (Those were the days.)

Throughout high school we remained teammates and friends.  After high school, we stayed in touch for a few years.  We drifted apart as time passed, as many people do. 

Right as COVID hit, I was diagnosed with Colorectal Cancer.    I was not sure if I was going to make it.  I decided to reach out to my old friends and let them know the situation.   Low and behold, who is THE GUY that I can locate first?  Kevin!  He was still the glue!

Kevin… my man… my glue… my brother… you will be greatly missed.  I love you man.

My deepest condolences to Shiobian, their children, Barbara, Mike, et. al.

A true gentleman, loving husband, caring father, wonderful brother-in-law and uncle and so much fun too. You were always there to listen and gave thoughtful advice and boy did I often need it.  You were terrific cook, and you always put a lot of thought and preparation into your meals to make sure there was something delicious for everyone. You made everyone feel comfortable being with you, and your family was most important.  I am beyond fortunate that I was able to spend so much time with you especially over the past 2 years, and despite my terrible tennis game, you still let me play.  I will always hold your memories close in my heart.  Until we meet again. xo

We have so many wonderful memories from New Years Eve celebrations to horse races and annual golf trips to spring lake followed by stay overs at casa Kelly! Matt, Keegan and Chris - your father was a very kind, generous man, qualities I admired and hoped I could emulate from the time we met. Whether it was playing golf, eating dinner, having a beer (which he really enjoyed) or simply sitting having a conversation, your father was always great company.
I believe your father is part of golfing history at Canoe Brook when he climbed from last place in the 2018 Governor’s Tournament (with a different partner who will remain nameless) to flight winner in 2019, repeating as flight winner in 2020. I attributed his success to the pickle juice your mom had him drink. My contribution in both 2019 and 2020 was winning team raffle prizes. Mary and I are blessed to have your Mom and Dad as part of our life.
Kevin – it is not good-bye, but see you later. Rest in peace friend. 


I met, Kevin at RK&Co in 1988 and worked directly with him on many occasions.  I really thought he was a great guy.  20 years ago, however, our paths crossed again.  I have worked alongside Kevin for the past 20 years and I can say he was a true blessing in my life.  He was a man of integrity, a mentor and a great friend.  To say I admired him is an understatement.  I will miss the occasional "What's up, Meathead", when I walked in his office.  The daily walk to lunch, discussing the Mets, family and life.  I will cherish your friendship forever.  Rest well my friend.  Until we meet again,  Kurp

I will always remember Uncle Kev for his kindness, his humor, the conversations we had together and of course his amazing food. He was always smiling and excited to talk with me about anything. He was the best uncle and the best company. Every family gathering we had, I was always excited to be greeted with a firm handshake and a warm smile. You were the best and I will miss you dearly. I love you Uncle Kevin.

As a family we were blessed enough to have had the Kelly’s as neighbors for over a decade. The friendship between Mr. & Mrs. Kelly and my parents grew into something quite special. Countless ski trips and vacations to the Outer Banks. Just a few weeks ago we were skiing in Park City. One night while the kids were conquering an escape room, our parents went out to dinner. When my siblings and I got back to our rental we asked how dinner was. My parents just looked at each other laughing and said “we laughed so much, we didn’t stop laughing”.  From the bottom of my heart I am deeply sorry for your loss but I know that Mr. Kelly will be laughing along with each of you for many years to come. 

Kevin, you were an awesome brother in law and friend! I will forever cherish the moments spent and the memories made being with you. So many fun times! It’s easy  to see how loved you are by all who have had the good fortune of being in your life. Thank you for being a loving husband and a best friend to my sister and the perfect role model for the entire family. You were an adored uncle who listened and gave wise advice freely. We are truly blessed for having had you in our lives. Heaven is suddenly a much nicer place….
 Rest In Peace brother

Uncle Kevin was one of the best men I knew. He lives on in his children, now, through the lessons he taught and upbringing he gave, and in those he knew otherwise through fond memories and the conversations we'll hold about him even decades from now. He'll carry on, too, through those whose lives he's already saved even after his passing, but while you can take this to mean the literal continuation of his organs, I think the spirit and generosity of the deed is more emblematic of the man he was. I know that we'll all carry his heart and soul with us forever into the future, to make the world better as he always did and still continues to do. Even if he's not entirely with us anymore physically, the light he brought into the world through the people whose lives he brightened will always remain. I'm going to miss him and his handshakes, which were always surprisingly, painfully strong, yet which I somehow was never prepared for. I think in a way they showed how strong he was on the inside. He will always hold my respect, my admiration, and my love. Rest easy, Uncle Kevin. You've earned it.

To Kevin’s family - I am beyond saddened to hear about your loss. I remember the first time I met him and have so many fond memories. From working together, to playing golf, to grabbing a beer on the train and so many more. I will miss him and my thoughts and prayers will forever be with all of you. I am so sorry. 

My neighbor, my friend, for over 20 years. I watch him support the wife, raise his children, and deal with adversity almost on a weekly bases. He was the voice of reason with a loving passion for people and a unique sense of humor.  

To my fellow outlaw- I remember how this whole outlaw thing started like it was yesterday. The traditional  Keohane sibling picture at every Christmas dinner- you were over it and started a new tradition with Mike and me to take our own picture and hence “the outlaws” were born. Sadly, time got away from us this Christmas and we never did get that picture- I will forever regret that. It is hard to imagine what holidays and family get togethers will be like without your amazing cooking, wonderful sense of humor and most importantly your kind and loving nature.  There are so many wonderful memories that we shared with you and we will always hold them close to our hearts.  I am forever grateful for your generous heart and the respect you always showed to us all, most especially Dan.  You had an uncanny knack of making everyone around you feel welcome and comfortable in your presence and for some, it was like a lifeline in an otherwise difficult situation.  To say we will miss you is an understatement.  Until we meet again, rest peacefully Kev…

My last one on one conversation with Mr. Kelly was a few weeks ago when the Kelly family and my own took a trip to Park City, Utah together. On the third night, I had the pleasure of sitting next to Mr. Kelly at dinner. I had complimented his blueish gray framed eye glasses which I thought suited him so nicely. We got into a conversation about contacts and lasik eye surgery. It was nothing groundbreaking but I look back and think how any conversation with Mr. Kelly was so similar to this one: he genuinely wanted to hear what I had to say, treated me as an equal, and certainly never invalidated any opinions I shared. He was a great listener. Although Mr. Kelly has passed and will be so immensely missed, I will be forever grateful to him for blessing my family with his true friendship.

Kevin, We met in 1988 at RK& Co, working together often.  I knew you were a great guy then.  20 Years ago God crossed our paths again and I never realized what a gift you would be to my life.  Working along side you for the last 20 years has been a true blessing.  You are a man of integrity, hard working and a gifted mind.  To say I admired you is an understatement.  What I will miss most is the friendship.  The occasional, "what's up Meathead", when I walked in your office.  Daily walks to lunch, talking about the Mets, family and life. Approx. 37 years ago I had the pleasure and fortune of starting my first real job out of college with a guy named Kevin Kelly.   We had so many good times and laughs at Rothstein Kass.  We took many business trips to Florida and California for one of our biggest clients.  As years went by our trips became golf trips.  From Myrtle beach to Pebble Beach we always had a great time and Kevin always had a smile on his face.  One of my memories early in our career was we would leave work and go golfing in the afternoons.  This one day the two of us went to Weequahic Park Golf in Newark.  It was a perfect day and the weather was great.  We get to one of the road holes which was a long par 5 and Kevin hits a bomb right down the middle.  I probably hooked my shot into the woods.  Well as we are about to head down the fairway Kevin says to me "did you see that" and I did.  A little kid crawled under the chain link fence and ran out and took Kevin's ball.  We laughed so hard.  One of the other memories was the picture below of our RK team and family we developed over the years.

To the family  - my deepest condolences. To KK - you are the best.  I will miss you dearly my friend.  Without Kevin I am not where I am in life today. He supported me throughout my career.  He pushed me to go on to bigger & better things. He was selfless. A true gentleman.  The world lost a great one but he’s somewhere else making that place better.  Because that’s what he did.  
I am heartbroken.  RIP KK. 

40 years ago "We swore Forever Friends." Little did we know how those words would guide us from our morning rides to Union High until today...and Forever. In this short space, I can't possibly capture what you have meant to me. But I think this is a place for laughs, not tears. It's a place for a public display of affection, not restraint.  So for all The Odd Couple and Caddyshack quotes, for the thousands of songs and dozens of concerts, for all the conversations both meaningful and meaningless...for all of these things we shared, thank you. Thank you for the brotherhood and thank you for your kindness, loyalty and love. I'll see you in my dreams. FF



In January, 1983  -Kevin became my roommate at Villanova when Kevin moved in from off campus housing.  1st night we went out and had a great time.  Somewhere during the night someone "Bag man" accidently got in bed with Kevin because Bag Man was very intoxicated and didn't realize what room he was in.   Was quite an interesting moment for Kevin's 1st night on college campus! Kevin and I always loved telling that story. 

When I was out with Kevin last Tuesday night, right before Kevin fell ill, we were sharing that exact story with the folks we were out with.  Both of us still laughing like it was the 1st time we had told it.  That was 1st day of 39+ years of being best friends.  

Kevin always would try to make any occasion because he would say "you never know when we won't be able to to do this anymore" or as another of his best friends Dan would say - he didn't want to be "that guy" who misses out on fun, family and friends!  He was always there for everyone.

When I try to think of where Kevin could have done better - I can only think of 1 thing.  His (and my) love of the NY Mets! We missed on that one!

I love Kevin and will miss him everyday.  Rest in Peace Kevin and God Bless your beautiful family.





Kevin and I were more than friends, we were pals, mates, to the core.  Here's a couple of examples of things we shared that we will forever.  Our love of the Genesis song, "Turn it On Again".   On Friday afternoons we would take my big honkin JVC speakers and put them in my Sullivan Hall dorm Room window facing out to the Quad and we would blast that song and giggle as people walked by.  The movie Die Hard.  It's a buddy movie and we watched it together a bunch.  Whenever I see or hear mention of it I always think of Kevin.   You see, being a mate means forever, regardless of how frequently you communicated.  Thanks for the memories, I'll miss you Kevin.

We are so so sorry for what you are going through. We send our sincerest wishes that you find peace and comfort. Remember that Kevin is in Heaven and looking down upon you smiling. You are a kind, loving family, full of life, and we are blessed to have been friends for all these years. Hey Kev. I hope that you are resting well up above us. Hopefully Clarence is playing some tunes for you, your dad, and Mrs. Keohane. I am sure that you are all sipping your favorite IPAs, beers, cocktails. It has been 30 years that we have been friends through my dear friend Shiobian. You have been her soulmate, friend, and wonderful husband. I thank you for all you have done for Shiobian through these special years you have shared. You and Shiobian have raised precious children, now adults. What accomplishments!! There have been many memories through the years of hanging out. Fun times!! You and Shiobian have welcomed me into your family and I am so blessed.  The memories will last my lifetime. I remember being in the hospital when Matthew was just a tiny infant and how you and Shiobian were so embraced in his life and willing him to do well. Well, look at him now. A wonderful young man with a beautiful wife, Ellen, and soon to be baby. And watching your daughter Keegan grow through the years into a lovely young lady with so much promise. Christopher is a warm young man with a true heart - like father (and mother) like son.

Kevin and I were friends and fraternity brothers at Villanova and maintained a friendship for 4 decades. For all his success in business I always thought he prided himself in being a “Springsteen, New York Giants and Jersey Shore-loving Jersey guy”. 
I will always cherish the get togethers and group texts over Villanova basketball. It’s only appropriate the last time I saw you two weeks ago was at Villanova. RIP Bone…and say hi to Sharon for me…

Lucky was the day when we met Kevin at a Rothstein Kass Holiday party. I knew he was a great guy the minute I met him and told Michael I wanted him to meet my sister. So glad he agreed to that blind date and that we got to have him in our family. So many wonderful happy memories,  golf trips, family gatherings filled with laughter and good meals. I will always think of Kevin as a genuine person with a quick wit and a warm smile. Kevin was also, above all else, a "gentle-man". A few years ago I was in town and Kevin generously invited me to spend the night. I had an early flight the next day and so I got up and took a quick shower. Unfortunately I must have broken a pipe when I turned on the shower and almost flooded the house. Kevin could have reacted a lot of ways when he say water dripping from his ceiling. His reaction was, and I quote... "dang". He then calmly drove me to the airport. Amazing! Love this man. Our thoughts and prayers are with Shiobian and family. 

“We learned more from a 3 minute record than we ever learned in school”
I know Kevin,Andy and I agreed with this to a point. And if you were in the union school system you would understand.
I was lucky enough to be invited to be the third wheel in this trio.
Some of my greatest memories involve Kevin, Andy and Springsteen. Starting in the summer of 1984,driving to Saratoga for a show. Drinking black label beer and sleeping in the basement the night before. To this day, I can’t hear “who’ll stop the rain”
And not think of that trip
And our last show, August 2016, also in the rain. Standing next to Kevin, when I feel his sweat hitting me over and over. 
I will miss Kevin’s text during Giants games. It made the last several years bearable. Or our last text thread, name the all time mt Rushmore of New York Giants. Inane but it made the work day better.
And that’s what Kevin’s friendship did, it made my life better. Thanks I will miss you


Dear Shiobian, Matt, Ellen, Keegan and Chris, my heartfelt and sincerest condolences to you all. Words cannot express my sorrow, but I want to thank you for sharing Kevin with all of us.  I am certainly a better person because Kevin was part of my life. Our friendship spanned twenty years and we enjoyed playing lots of golf together. I was Kevin’s assistant for 20 years.  When I first started he had already been at Atalanta for 3 years and I was told “Kevin’s been through a couple of assistants the last few years”, but we clicked and I’m so happy we did.  We formed a friendship and I watched his cherished children grow up.  Shiobian would call through on his line, I would pick up and our phone conversations lasted 30 minutes plus before Kevin even got to speak to her.  His family became my family.  He shared stories about his college days – the one I love most is about a stray cat that became a pet for him and his college roommates, but then suddenly left when they all graduated as if that cat knew the good times were over.  If I introduced him as my boss, he would correct me and say “Shuk, I’m your friend”.  He guided me through many life experiences and he was always there for me.   At our most recent holiday party he did karoke to no surprise – The Boss.  That video will live on.  I’ll miss you friend.

My deepest sympathies to Kevin's family and friends. It was heartbreaking to hear of his passing. Kevin was a dear friend of mine at Villanova where we lived down the hall from each other. We shared so many laughs. He truly was one of the kindest people I have known. We traded messages several times in the last decade trying to coordinate a time to get together. I will regret not making that happen for a long time. RIP Bone. 


Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for this great loss.  I worked closely with Kevin for 20 years.  When people work closely for that long, they become a kind of family.  We not only built a business but also a close friendship and a mutual respect.  He had a gentle guiding hand that can never be replaced.  My feelings are shared by all Kevin came in contact with. 

I know Kevin loved his family above all else.  Shiobian, Matt and Ellen, Keegan and Chris - my thoughts, prayers and love are with you all.   May the wonderful memories ease some of the pain of your loss, and may peace be with your family.  

Neighbor and classmate . Best memory was Going to Roscoe Lake NY. Mike and Kev’s parents thought it was a good idea to take me along . I will never forget that weekend. Barb would always call me ACE. What an incredible family and I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Although we lost touch when I left NJ,  Kevin was always a great friend growing up. My thoughts and prayers to the entire family. 

Kevin was such a kind, softhearted man. A man that had the youthfulness to party with his kids and their friends at the beach yet the wisdom to inspire us in so many different ways. He was incredibly generous with his time, wisdom and money. One of my favorite memories was of just this past summer when he and Shiobian came to Hawaii and they made the time to hang out with Liz and I.  We all golfed in what looks like Jurassic Park and enjoyed dinner together. We truly enjoyed all the time we had with Kevin over the few years we knew him , but I’m certainly a better man for having known him, and I know many others that feel the same way. Kevin was my best friend in Washington elementary school, Union NJ. The friendship continued and grew stronger through junior and high schools. I remember our times playing cards on a Friday night, going down the shore and, of course, the times on the football field. While we drifted apart after graduation, I am thankful that we recently reconnected with our close friends Cosmo and Tom. We were planning a reunion get-together in the coming year. We are heartbroken that won't happen but you will be forever there in spirit. My deepest sympathies to Shiobian and all of Kevin's family. I relish the times we shared in our youth and also I am thankful we were able to meet in July one last time. Until we meet again, my friend.
