Juan Colon

On December 1, 2022, Juan Colon, of Hillsdale, passed away after a brief illness surrounded by his devoted family. He is survived by his three children Lisa, Philip and Christopher, as well as three grandchildren Chase, Paige and Sophia.

Johnny was always down for a good meal with friends and family and an intense game of dominos. He had a smile and a voice that would fill up a room. And his most special gift was making sure you knew you were loved and considered a treasure.

He came to this country smuggled in a handbag as a baby. Despite not completing High School he went on to provide a beautiful home for his adored wife Hilda and their 3 children. He drove a school bus for NYC Department of Education for 34 years and while all those lucky children were off at school he dashed around the city in his yellow cab.

JC’s passing will leave a hole in all our hearts, but we are all blessed and better having known him.

The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, on Saturday, December 3rd from 1-4pm and all are invited to gather at the family home afterwards to celebrate the late, great Johnny.
