John Velastegui

John Velastegui, 35, passed away on June 3, 2021 at his home in Hoboken, NJ. Even though he was taken away from this world far too soon, his loving heart and appreciation for life will never be forgotten.

To know John was to love him. His smile was infectious, his laugh contagious and generosity unmatched. Whether he was manning the grill, mixing a cocktail, or watching sports, John was always making sure those around him were taken care of. This was most true when it came to his relationship with Megan, who he built a beautiful life with over the past 8-years.

John was a loving son, brother, partner, and friend who cherished time spent with his loved ones. John is survived by his adoring partner Megan Herlihy; his Father Gil; his brothers Gil (Junior) and Angel Velastegui; his partner’s parents John and Tisa Herlihy and their children Kenny and his fiancé Lindsey, Jake, Casey and Shaun. John is now reunited with his mother, Margaret, whom he loved dearly.

A life so well lived deserves to be beautifully celebrated. Following the Services the Herlihy’s will be hosting John’s repast at their home in Old Tappan, NJ.
