Marilyn was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 30, 1946. She graduated from Northeast High School and received a degree in Education (Educational Psychology and Guidance) at Temple University. She was married to Michael Borowsky on July 15, 1967.
Before retirement, Marilyn worked at Baylake Pines School in Virginia Beach, VA as both an elementary school teacher and Assistant Director for over 20 years. She began her career teaching grades K-5 in both inner city Philadelphia as well as Maryland.
Marilyn had a witty sense of humor, was a supportive and thoughtful friend, mother, and grandmother, and always saw the brighter side of life.
She was always ready to join friends and family at happy hours, plays, and sporting events any chance she could. Young at heart, her enthusiasm for life made every gathering special.
In addition to spending time with her loved ones, she also volunteered helping at-risk youth at the local elementary school in Florida, as well as at the Naples Therapeutic Riding Center, helping special needs children through equine-related programs and riding.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Lillian Sirota, and her husband, Michael Borowsky.
Marilyn was survived by her children Matt Borowsky (wife, Hazel) and Michele Borowsky Warner (husband, Doug), her grandchildren Rachel Lily Borowsky and Cole Martin Warner, and her dog, Molly.
