Henry was born on August 15, 1953, in Kampot Province, Cambodia. The son of Phu Chi Hap and Neang Lay, Henry was one of 12 children. He was one of six children who survived the Khmer Rouge regime.
After fleeing Cambodia and seeking refuge in Vietnam, Henry and Jenny bravely immigrated to the United States to find a better life for their family. They started a small business which ran successfully for almost 35 years in Westminster, California. He retired his business in May 2023.
He loved to play ping pong, work out at the gym, sing karaoke, listen to music, and travel the world with his wife and children. Most importantly, he loved to spend time with his family. He will be remembered as a caring, protective, intelligent, and strong willed father, grandfather, husband, and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny; his daughter, Nancy, and her husband, Nick; his daughter, Leah, and her husband, Eugene; and his grandson, Asher.
To celebrate his life, visitation will be held at the Westminster Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel, at 14801 Beach Blvd., Westminster, CA 92683.
The main memorial/visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, from 10:00 am to 1 pm, followed by cremation at 2 pm.
For those who cannot attend the main memorial on Saturday, May 11, a visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, from 10 am to 5 pm (closed between 12-1 pm).
In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation in Henry’s name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (https://www.lls.org). This money will go towards funding research to fight Leukemia and Lymphoma cancers. Thank you.
