Sandra Jewel Rond was taken home by a ring of angels Monday morning to be in heaven with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and to the clutch of the waiting arms of the only man she ever loved, Raymond. Grandma Sandy’s work on earth was complete, and she can now rest for eternity knowing that her legacy, and her commitment to her children and grandchildren will always remain as a source of admiration for those that knew and loved her. Grandma Sandy was born in New York City in 1938. She was raised in a family of eight children including sisters Betty Ann, Gail and Roselyn, and brothers Donald, Ronald, Craig and ‘Butchy.’ She was married to Raymond in the fall of 1957, which Grandma called one of the 7 happiest days of her life, and the two of them embarked on a great love affair and adventure that would see them move to California and mold a family of six children, each of their birth dates representing the 6 other happiest days of her life. God brought Raymond to Heaven in 1975, but Grandma remained steadfast in her love for her 6 children, raising them on her own and continuing the adventure that she and Raymond had started. Her children were all under the age of 14 when she was widowed, but she devoted her life to her daughters Sandy Karen, Robin Leigh, Randi Lynn, Sheridan Rae, Jamie Rourke, and her son Craig Raymond. Though never knowing financial wealth, the love and devotion for her family brought treasures that no amount of money can buy. Grandma Sandy made certain that all 6 of her children grew to understand the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the grace of God’s blessings. Through her children’s marriages, she inherited 5 more loving children in Kip Daniel, Jennifer Marie, Joey Patrick, Andrew David, and Derek Kenneth. Grandma Sandy considered her 10 grandchildren her ‘little angels’ and never tired of loving them. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by them and spoiling them whenever possible. Samuel Raymond, Noah David, Lexi Ray, Delaney Jo, Cade Raymond, Riley Paige, Jackson Wyatt, Payton Rae, Luke Joseph, and Dylan Grace became the absolute joy of Grandma’s life. Grandma Sandy was able to see each of her children and grandchildren in the final days of her adventure and is now home for eternity to watch the fruits of her love and labor blossom and grow. We will miss you mom! We are all honored to have been a part of the family you and dad created, and thank the Lord for the years we had together. Smile often up there, bring us a pretty sunset from time-to-time, and enjoy catching up with dad. Until we meet again…
Grandma Sandy will be laid to rest next to Raymond at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village on Friday, April 9th at 11:00 am
