Robert “Bob” F. Wendt of Westlake Village, California passed away on May 29, 2024 at the age of 93. He was born on May 19, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri where he grew up with his parents, Minnie and Walter and his brother Richard “Dick”. He met the love of his life Skip, when they were just children and married in 1956. They remained married 52 years until Skip’s passing.
He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Bob served in the Army during the Korean War as a Corporal in the Signal Corps. He enjoyed a long career in aerospace engineering at Litton Industries designing guidance control systems for the US Military.
After retirement, he went on to found Wendt Inc., where he designed and manufactured field production sound mixers for the entertainment industry. His mixers were used in movies, reality TV shows and are still used by an Emmy Award winning sound mixer.
He is survived by his daughters, Karen Szabo and Lisa Wendt, his son-in-law, George Szabo and nieces Meredith Pinkerton and Caroline Wendt and their families and his recent wife of 2 ½ years, Janice Tredway.
