Due to WWII impacts in the Malaysian peninsula, her early childhood was spent in the Cameron Highlands in Malaysia and in China, before they settled in Singapore. She moved to the US in 1953 after high school, graduating with degrees from Cottey College and Northwestern University in chemistry. In Chicago, she met and married Ee-Chuan Khoo, a fellow Singaporean who had come to the US for medical school. They settled in Thousand Oaks in 1966, where they established Ee-Chuan’s medical practice, where she ran the office and lab until they retired, and where they raised their son, David. In retirement, they spent significant time in Vancouver. She was also an active member of the Chinese Christian Church of Thousand Oaks and a resident at University Village Thousand Oaks.
She was predeceased by her parents Chi Ping Chu and Hua Fen Yeh, her husband Ee-Chuan Khoo, her brother Noel Yeh, and her daughter-in-law Debby (Guzman) Khoo.
She is survived by her son David Khoo, sister-in-law Yi Yeh, niece Millie Calistri-Yeh, nephew Andrew Yeh, great-nieces Adrienne Calistri-Yeh and Cecilia Yeh, great-nephew Joshua Yeh, and many more extended family and friends in California, Singapore, Vancouver, and around the world.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, March 9, at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village, California 91362. The viewing will be from 12 to 2pm, service at 2pm, and reception following.
