I was in the 13th Armored Division

I was in the 1st Platoon, 3rd Squad

I had 2 – 13 day Furloughs

We left the States on Friday the 13th

It took us 13 days on a Liberty Ship to get to England

In an Armored Division, each Squad rode in a half-track,

12 men and a driver (13)

The number of our Half-track was 13

We left France to come back to the U.S.A. on the 13th,

but not a Friday

And we were the only Squad in our outfit

not to have a casualty.
