Betty Ann Shoup (McLaughlin), 87 years young. Departed this world on May 10th 2018. Loving Wife to late Frank Shoup, mother to Thomas (Terry), Timothy & Janet. Dearest Grandma to Aaron & Melissa, loving Great Grandmother to Ella Shoup.
Betty was born in Riverside California and married Frank which began a life as a Marine Corps wife and mother. She moved her family every two years between the east coast and west coast as Frank’s military duties required. When Frank retired from the service they moved the family to the Thousand Oaks area in 1968. As her children got older she began working as a Doctor’s Assistant for Dr. Jerome Ratzan in Westlake where she remained for 27 years.
Betty and Frank enjoyed traveling in their Lazy Daze all over the country visiting family and friends. One of her most favorite things was to cook a meal for family get togethers.
Betty enjoyed many years of playing tennis and won quite a few Doubles & Mixed Doubles tournaments from Thousand Oaks Racquet Club. In her 80’s she took up dancing at the Arthur Murray Dance Studios.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on May 16 at Pierce Brothers Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd., Westlake Village, CA 91360.
