Austin was born in West Hills, California on February 12, 2000 to proud parents Gregory Austin King and Christine Andrea Montaine. On September 27, 2021, at the tender age of twenty-one, Austin tragically passed away due to a drug overdose. Like many others in our country, Austin struggled fighting the heartless monster of addiction that has taken far too many lives.
Austin Harrison King was gentle, tender-hearted, witty, and affectionate. He was a sensitive and sweet guy who was easy going and generous. He was quick to find the good in others, although he struggled to see the good in himself. He was a talented writer, had a gift with computer coding, and always made sure his hair looked good. Austin was passionate about cars, fashion, fishing, food and his family. With his family and friends he was an extremely loyal, kind, and engaged listener. His sensitivity, kindness, and generous attitude made him a wonderful son, grandson, brother, and friend.
Austin is survived by his mother, Christine Montaine; father, Gregory Austin King; sister, Victoria King Erb; brothers, Oliver and Colin King; stepfather, Matthew Spaccarelli; stepmother Cecilia King; stepbrother, Robert Cruz; brother-in-law, Michael Erb; maternal grandparents, Lars and Sharon Montaine; uncles, Richard Montaine, Lawrence King, Todd Brun, Jimmie Murphree; aunts Brenda Montaine, Cara King, Dorothy King Miller, Nora King, Carla Caesar; and many additional extended family members. Austin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joan King and Jerome Austin King, and uncle, Michael Miller.
We ask that you pray for his family’s comfort, peace, and healing.
