CARMELA M “CARMIE” HODGES, age 91, passed away Monday March 24, 2025. Dear sister of Dr. John Sanitato (Louise), Nancy Wells (Bob), and the late Nick Sanitato, Dorothy Amico, and Joseph Sanitato; aunt and great aunt of many.
Carmela was an avid walker and really enjoyed the outdoors. She loved traveling including cruising and enjoying the national parks. Above all, her favorite thing was helping others. Carmie loved to cook delicious Italian food to share with family and friends. Her cooking skills were amazing.
Carmela was a waitress and worked at many establishments on the west side of Cleveland throughout the years. Later in life she wanted to help others, so she decided to get into home health care.
A memorial service will be held in the future.
