Norris Claude Whittington

He was born July 17, 1939 in Pine Prairie, LA to Claude and Alana (Ardoin) Whittington. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his children, Brent Whittington of Houston, Roxane and Dean Collins of Houston, Kenneth and Peggy Whittington of LeBleu Settlement, Anna and Mark Morvant of Westlake, Phillip and April Whittington of Grand Lake and Jared Whittington of Lake Charles, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Dale and Linda Whittington of Ellerbe, N.C. and Jimmie and Jeannie Whittington of Westlake, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Norris served in the U.S. Army reserves and retired from the Maintenance Dept. at Boeing. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union Local 953 and attended First Baptist Church in Westlake. Norris spoke at are schools about the effects of alcohol and was proud of receiving his 30 year sobriety chip from A.A. He will be remembered as a loving father, brother and grandfather that enjoyed fishing, LSU sports, the N. O. Saint's and family gatherings.

His service will be 11:00am, Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and resume Saturday 8:00am until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.
