Dorothy Daigle

She retired from South Central Bell in 1982. She worked at the Ashworth School of Performing Arts until her death where she was known as the Dancing Granny. She loved to sew and really enjoyed making dolls and dance costumes. She enjoyed traveling with her friends.

She is survived by her son, Wayne Dawson of Lake Charles; daughter, Alice Ashworth and husband Jimmie of Westlake. She has 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Dawson Doucet and her son, Robert K. Dawson.

Her funeral will be Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Raymond Shawa will officiate. Pallbearers assisting in her service will be Ty Dawson, Clay Ashworth, Joel Ashworth, Jimmy Ashworth, Michael Thibodeaux, and Avner Thibodeaux. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. and resume Wednesday from 8:00 until time of service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
