Carroll H. Parham

Carroll Henry Parham, 88, September 23, 1924 to August 23, 2013, passed away surrounded by his wife, Vera E. Parham of 68 years and 1 month, his children and their spouses, as well as 3 generations of grandchildren.

Carroll spent his life serving his Lord. He served as a deacon and Bible teacher for over 60 years. He sang in the choir for many years. He served in WWII as a Master Sgt. , then he worked at PPG for 39 years.

Left to cherish his memory along with his wife are his five children, Pat Dawsey and husband, Jim, Pamela Nave and husband, Gene all of Longville, LA, Paul Parham and fiancé’, Susan Oliver of Lafayette, LA, Phillip Parham and wife, Dena of Sierra Vista, AZ, Mark Parham and wife, Yolanda of Westlake, LA; 1 sister, Marjorie Gill of IN; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Louis and LuLu Parham; 1 son, Preston Parham; 2 grandsons, Matt and Jack Vickers; 1 great- grandchild, Hailey Johnson; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

His Homegoing will be 10am Friday, August 30 in Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. The Rev. Jaceson Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Thursday, August 29 at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 1:30pm Friday, August 30 at Palestine Cemetery, Grant, LA. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
