Macmillan, Marcia Mary (nee King) – born on November 9, 1933 in Vancouver, BC and passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, December 13, 2019 in West Vancouver at the age of 86. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She moved to Victoria as a child and attended Oak Bay High School before moving to West Vancouver, attending West Van High and going to secretarial school. As a young mother she took pride in her home and was a talented seamstress and decorator. She was a gifted hostess and enjoyed mastering many crafts such as pottery, painting and jewelry making. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, James Allan (Al) Macmillan, and her children Janice Haakons, Shawn Macmillan, Graham (Lonnie) Macmillan and Julie (Warren) Macmillan. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, Mae (nee Bailey) and Wilfred King, her sister Joan Balzar and granddaughter Alison Marcia Haakons. Marcia was laid to rest at Capilano Cemetary in West Vancouver on December 20, 2019. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Smile, a charity that Marcia was particularly fond of.
