July 5, 1942 - Jan 11, 2012 Edgar F. Kaiser, Jr. died peacefully of natural causes on January 11, 2012. He is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his family and many close friends. Edgar led a distinguished career as a businessman and entrepreneur, but his true passion was for the many years he spent devoted to public service. He founded the Kaiser Foundation in 1986 to promote a better understanding throughout Canada, of the issues relating to addictions and mental health. He was recognized in 2003 with the Order of British Columbia. His family and close friends will remember him best for his remarkable intelligence, insatiable curiosity, and his great love of the outdoors; especially boating, fishing, skiing... He was an impressive figure socially, but a warm and loving homebody who was happiest with his family watching football, talking politics and telling corny jokes. We will miss him more deeply than we can ever express, but are forever grateful that he was in our lives. Services for celebrating Edgar's life will be held on January 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM at West Vancouver United Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kaiser Foundation would be gratefully accepted.
