Bob was born on April 26, 1944 to Theodore and Norma Butcher in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was drafted into the armed forces of The Vietnam War where he served his country faithfully for two years. Shortly after he married Paula Rose Reppert on January 1st, 1969 in Reno, Nevada. Together they raised 4 wonderful children which he loved very much. Bob was born in very humble and simple beginnings where he established a good work ethic that continued throughout his life. He had a love for working outdoors and building new projects, if you asked him to make you something, he would make it better than you imagined. After retiring Bob found a love for geology. Dad always loved to learn, he was so talented and never let his talent to go to waste. He loved his grandkids and thought the world of them, he was always involved in their activities and made them feel important, individually. Bob will be missed by many and life will not be the same without his smile in our lives.
Survived by wife Paula Butcher; children Robert Butcher Jr., Christeen Butcher, Todd Butcher, and Troy (Ashley) Butcher. 3 grandchildren; Wesley Smith, Brooklyn (Jadan) Tanner, and Caitlyn Butcher; siblings Norma (Murray) Moffat, Thelma Mcwhorter, Barbara (Art) Reeves, Ted (Kathy) Butcher, Sally Butcher. Nephew Rob (Dawn) Butcher.
He is preceded in death by parents; Norma and Theodore Butcher, sister; Beula Jensen, and nephew; Randy Butcher.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home. 4335 West 4100 South West Valley City, Utah 84120. With a visitation at 1:00 PM prior to the service. Interment Valley View Memorial Park.
