Maxine Wardle Romero Garritson passed away October 31, 2021 at the age of 88. Maxine was born in Myton, Utah January 17, 1933 to Glen D. and Thora Peterson Wardle, the 3rd of 12 children. Married Lester Romero, later divorced. Married Jack Garritson and they were together for 28 years before he passed away in July.
Maxine worked for many years as an electronic circuit board assembler and later as a banquet supervisor at Hotel Utah until it closed. She loved to sew, quilt, crochet, and knit hats. She made quilts and afghans for three generations of family. She donated hundreds of handmade hats to multiple homeless shelters and always had at least one in progress. She enjoyed growing flowers in her yard and would plant at least four flats each spring.
Survived by children Dennis Wardle, Connie (Val) Newbold, Judy (Bob) Fitzgerald, Cheri (Ray) Fowlks, Ronnie (Becky) Romero, David Romero, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Preceded in death by parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters, husband Jack, infant daughter Merilee, son-in-law Ray.
Memorial service will be held Monday, November 8 at 11:00 AM, with viewing preceding at 10:00-10:45 AM at Valley View Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City.
