Born under the New Mexico sun in Los Martinez on April 22, 1927, to Christerna Archunde and Manuel Martinez, she grew up to embrace life's adventures with open arms.
Juanita was a devout Catholic, embodying her beliefs in every action. Each chapter of her life was filled with love, laughter, and the undeniable strength that defined her.
Juanita's journey was shared with her husbands, Desiderio Trujillo, Sarkis Kashishian, and Joe Vallegos, all of whom preceded her on this journey to the afterlife.
Her spirit of adventure led her to explore the great outdoors, and she was fond of camping and traveling. Yet, she often indulged in the comfort of hotels for memorable vacations with her daughter, Dora. The beach held a special place in her heart. It was a sanctuary where she loved the feel of sand underfoot and the calm beauty of the boardwalks.
She was a connoisseur of life's simpler pleasures. She found joy in cooking, a Pepsi's fizz, the stroke of a paintbrush over canvas and rocks, and the thrill of a good find, whether in a store or a menu.
Juanita cherished the tranquility of sitting on her back porch, a silent observer of the world, savoring the simple joys of existence. Her home was an abode of music, laughter, and dance, reflecting her enthusiastic love for life and quick-witted charm. Her compassion knew no bounds, especially for dogs, which mirrored her kindhearted and gentle soul.
Her legacy is carried forward by her beloved family and the many hearts she touched, leaving an indelible mark of warmth, generosity, and a dash of whimsy.
Juanita leaves a loving family. It includes her children: Veronica (Eppie) Ulibarri, Johnny (Peggy) Trujillo, Dora (Ichiro) Hoshiyama, Larry Trujillo, Steve (Cindy) Trujillo, Deven Trujillo, and Patrick (Deidra) Trujillo. It also includes many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will miss her. Her parents, Christerna and Manuel Martinez; her son, Anthony Trujillo; and her daughter, Marsha Peterson, preceded her in death.
To celebrate a life so beautifully lived, a Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Valley View Memorial Park (Sunset Garden), 4400 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. Instead of flowers, the family encourages donations to a charity that mirrors Juanita's compassionate spirit, ensuring her legacy of kindness ripples outward.
As we bid farewell to Juanita, let us hold dear the memory of the incredible woman she was and the beautiful life she led. Her physical presence may have faded, but her essence, laughter, and love remain eternal.
