From an early age “Moose” loved playing baseball. On the morning of Josh’s first baseball practice at the young age of 5, Barry and Virginia found Josh waiting on the front porch dressed and ready to go three hours early. Josh’s passion for the sport carried him through the Kearns/Taylorsville baseball program 1987-1998, Taylorsville High School 1998-2001, Snow College 2001-2002, and Colorado Northwestern Community College 2002-2005.
As a child, “George” and his family frequently spent time camping, boating, and fishing. Josh became an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed many hobbies. He enjoyed riding snowmobiles, playing golf, fishing, and hunting. “George”, his father, and many beloved dogs spent a great deal of time hunting together. From the mountains of Utah hunting deer and elk to the plains of Nebraska, Kansas, and the Dakotas hunting pheasant, they always enjoyed their time together.
In 2003 while attending Colorado Northwestern Community College Josh met Camille, they married in 2005. Josh and Camille were married for 16 years and together they had two beautiful children Beau and Lola. Josh’s greatest joy was being a father. He took the kids camping and boating, he loved swimming, pushing the kids off cliffs, riding the tube, and teaching them to ski. In the winter you could find Josh building a snowman, sledding, or pulling them on a tube with his four-wheeler. Josh enjoyed watching them pursue their hobbies and now has the best seat to every baseball game and dance performance.
Josh worked in the Oil and Gas Industry for almost 20 years. He began as a labor hand and quickly worked his way up the ranks to become a Directional Driller. Josh was hardworking and enjoyed his job.
Josh was loved by many and will forever be missed. We are grateful for the time we had with him. We take comfort knowing he has reunited with his mother Virginia who he loved and missed dearly. He is survived by his children Beau and Lola (Camille); Father Barry; sisters Julia (Denton) Stepp, Jenna (Kevin) Kostenborder; fiancé Melissa Kaldor-Lahna, her children MaK, Khylar Ann and Jay; grandma and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
