Earl was born August 1, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert H and Frieda Hubner Anthony. He graduated from Cyprus High School and L.D.S. Business College. He married Sandra Lois Gessel on May 1, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. Sandra passed away October 2, 2006. He then Married Sharon Curtis February 4, 2012. Dad served in the National Guard and was honorably released in 1962. Dad was a jack of all trades but his master of all ended up being owner of AAA Fence Company, he loved being a big part of the community. Dad's main interest early on was Boy Scouting and dutch oven cooking with his boys, Family get-togethers, weekend barbeques and his trips to Wendover. His overall concern though was for the well-being and success of his children and grandchildren. Dad's hobbies were Horses, Gardening, Coin Collecting, Wood Working, Lapidary, playing Horse Shoes and enjoying Sweet treats with his family, his ALLTIME favorite was Pinapple Upside Down Cake. Dad was a WORKAHOLIC to which he has passed that trait down to his children. Dad was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in numerious callings throughout his life but his favorite calling of all was Scout Master. Dad formed a special bond with each of his scouts, he looked forward to each and every campout. Dads famous line was, BE THE BIGGER PERSON and that he was. The family wishes to take this time and thank all those who were a friend to dad. Dad returned home after a long courageous battle with Parkinsons. Earl is survived by his wife Sharon; children Matthew, Jannifer (Daniel) McLaughlan, Michael, Suzette (Tod) Buckner, Tiffanie, Brandon and Brittan (Amanda) 28 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren with 4 more on the way. 4 stepchildren and brother Glenn. He is preceded in death by his Wife Sandra, Parents Robert and Frieda, Sister Carolyn Scholes, Daughter Cynthia Colby and Great Grand-daughter Aceley Kate Anthony.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday May 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Copperhills 7th Ward Building, 6000 West 4195 South. The family will receive friends at a viewing Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South and one hour prior to the service. Entombment: Valley View Mausoleum.
