after enduring many years of chronic illnesses.
She was born June 1st, 1938, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to William and
Lorena House. The family later moved to Provo, Utah where Donna made
life-long friends and graduated from Provo High School.
On September 26th, 1959, she married James Owen Tanner Jr. The young
couple lived in St. George and Moab before settling in Granger, Utah
where they raised their four children.
Donna graduated from Brigham Young University and spend her career in
public education as a second grade teacher at Western Hills and Silver
Hills elementary schools. Her dedication to learning touched many
lives.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
where she also shared her time and talents with others in many
callings.
She was an intelligent woman, a gifted violinist and the proud
matriarch of her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jim, on August
28th, 2006. She is survived by her sister Betty (Bob) Storer of
Chandler, Arizona, and by her children, Tammy Walton of Clearfield;
Terry (Karl) Bayerlein of Salt Lake City; Chuck (Geneva) Tanner of
West Jordan; Todd Tanner of Salt Lake City, and by her much-loved
grandchildren, Autumn, Sierra, Alex, Eric, Kyle, Courtney and Jared.
She is also survived by her constant companion of many years, a boston
terrier named "Blaze".
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9th, 2013. A viewing
will be held at Valley View Funeral home, 4335 W. 4100 S. from 11am
until noon, with a graveside service to follow at Valley View Memorial
Park.
