Edward Eugene Rothrock

Ed was born in Olney on August 27, 1944 to Jonas and Edna (Upton) Rothrock.

Right out of high school, Ed joined the Army and served his country from 1962-1965.

The following year, he married his high school sweetheart, Jean Williams on September 2, 1966 in West Salem at the First Christian Church and they celebrated 50 years of life together in 2016.

Ed had many interests that spanned his working career, which included owning and operating Rothrock Body Shop for 38 years and also owning and operating a Tank Truck and Heat Treating Service. Ed found his true passion in life, however, as an oil producer.

He was a long time member and deacon of the First Christian Church in West Salem. Ed will be remembered for his many kind deeds that were often done behind the scenes, which is what he preferred.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and in the year 2014, had to say goodbye to his sister, JoAnn Goodwin, his son, Eric Eugene and his mother and father-in-law, Anna Mae and Grant Williams. He has now joined the jubilant group that has gone before.

Ed is survived by his wife, Jean, his son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Tammy Rothrock and two grandchildren, Katelyn and Caden Rothrock,, (who were dearly loved by their PaPa) all of rural West Salem.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 6 to 9 PM at the First Christian Church in West Salem.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 9AM at the church.

Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, rural Parkersburg, with military honors.

Memorial s are encouraged to the First Christian Church and will be used for the Pinehaven mission trip and funeral dinner funds.
