Marguerite Cassandra Thompson (nee Berry) (Maggie to all who loved her) was born to Maude Mitchell and Donald Berry on August 22, 1928, in Kingston, Jamaica.
She is remembered as a generous and fun-loving person who never turned anyone away who was in need of aid or comfort. She loved to cook (an excellent one as many will testify); was a confidante to many and most of all she loved being around her grand and great-grandchildren. Her husband, Lloyd, preceded her in 1991. At the time of her passing, she was the only survivor of all her siblings.
Maggie passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at home surrounded by her family after a long and strong fight against Alzheimer’s Disease. She is survived by her children, Lorna, Laurie, David, Lloyd, Claudette and Patrice; her numerous grandchildren and ever-expanding brood of great-grandchildren as well as countless other relations and friends too numerous to list.
In Lieu of Flowers, the Family requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s Research.
