Kevin was born in 1941 in Jersey City, NJ to Joseph and Gertrude Moran. Proud of his family's Irish heritage, he obtained Irish citizenship. He received a Bachelor's Degree from St. Peter's College. Kevin served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1961, igniting his love of international travel. After completing his service, Kevin joined the Jersey City Police Department, retiring after 35 years as a detective and polygraph examiner.
In addition, he continued the ownership of a family-founded, citywide bus company and developed commercial real estate ventures in New Jersey.
He married Judith Murgittroyd on February 8, 1969. Kevin and Judy resided in North Caldwell and Avon-by-the-Sea, NJ until relocating full-time to Palm Beach. Kevin was a parishioner of Saint Edward Catholic Church in Palm Beach.
He loved life. He was an avid skier, scuba diver and croquet enthusiast and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, New York Athletic Club, Old Guard Society of Palm Beach, The Beach Club, National Croquet Club and Palm Beach Yacht Club.
Kevin was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, and his brother, Brian. He is survived by his sister, Sharon Moran Callahan, his sister-in-law Suzy Moran and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church in Palm Beach at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
