He completed his education with the Pulaski Public School System. Harry relocated to Miami, Florida in 1950 then moved to West Palm Beach in 1959. On October 10, 1960, Harry and Arilla were united in holy matrimony by the Reverend Johnnie K. Bryant. To this union, in 1963, a daughter, Venita Carol Harrell, was born. Harry was employed for 30 years by Eastern Airlines and worked an additional 10 years with Palm Beach International Airport Aviation. He joined Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, Florida in 1960. After retiring, he became very active with the Men’s Ministry, Food Ministry, and the Men’s Usher Board.
On Thursday, November 25th, Harry’s journey quietly ended. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Arilla Jones Harrell; sisters, Mattie Mae Harrell, Josephine Thomas, Elizah Jane Lumpkin, and Leola Harrell; and brothers, Sylvester Harrell, Johnnie Lee Harrell, Aaron Harrell, and Grant Harrell, Jr.
He leaves as his legacy his pure and simple love of God, and his devotion and everlasting love for his family.
Harry will be deeply missed by his dedicated, loyal, and devoted daughter Venita Harrell Roberts (Olenza D. Roberts Sr.), Loxahatchee, Florida; special grandchildren, Olenza D. Roberts II, (Samantha), Jazmin Arilla Roberts, and Zannon X. Roberts; great-grandchildren, Olenza D. Roberts III (Markia), Owen Roberts, Olanna Roberts, Oleia Roberts, and Zannon X. Roberts, Jr.; brother, James Harrell, Lake Worth, Florida; sister, Della Singletary (Officer), Hamilton, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Willie C. Jones, Crawfordville, Florida, Marcus Major (Sheronda), Jacksonville, North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Ruby Richardson, Buford, Georgia, Gussie Mae Green, Thomasville, Georgia, Doris Hughes (Gary), Suwanee, Georgia, Petra Jones, West Palm Beach, Florida, Alice Armster, Boston, Georgia; special cousins, Cornelius Williams, Vera and Jean Harrell, Versie Fitzgerald; goddaughter, Hilary Wilburn; devoted neighbor and friend of over 50 years, Helen James; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.
