Celso O. Otero, 92 years old, of West Palm Beach, FL died peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 18, 2016. The son of Spaniards from Galicia and Asturias, he was born in Union de Reyes, Cuba on April 9, 1924. Mr. Otero was a resident of the Palm Beach area since 1970 and a longtime member of the First Hispanic United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches. He was employed as a machinist and mill worker with Osceola Sugar Farms until his retirement in 1992. Mr. Otero was preceded in death by his parents, Celso Otero Alba and Maria Fuentez Fernandez; a daughter, Amada Otilia Tatum; and a granddaughter, Kathleen "Ella" Otero.
He is survived by his wife, Otilia M. Otero; three sons, Celso Otero, Eduardo (Janet) Otero, and Oscar Otero; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 6:00 until 10:00 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33405 with a Funeral Service to be held at 8:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Benito Acebo, Retired Minister of The United Methodist Church, officiating. The family will also receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 9:00 a.m.
