Carol Summers

Carol is predeceased by her parents, Anne and Richard Kilroy of Valley Stream, NY, her brother Richard of Virginia Beach, VA, her granddaughter Leah of Loxahatchee, FL, her sister and brother in-law, Alice and Wayne Gunderson of West Palm Beach, FL and the love of her life Burt Summers with whom together they created a loving blended family.

Carol was born on July 5, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY to Anne and Richard Kilroy. She married Burt Summers in July of 1976. After their marriage in New York, the happy couple moved to West Palm Beach, Florida. Carol took a job as a secretary in Probation and then moved to Contractors’ Certification for Palm Beach County. In addition to her full-time job for Palm Beach County, Carol supported and participated in her husband’s successful Square Dance calling business! As popular Square Dance callers, Carol and Burt traveled the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii and Europe. Alas, in August 2001 Carol and Burt bought their most treasured summer home in Linville, NC. Together, they shared many happy years enjoying the local activities and beautiful scenery. After the death of her devoted husband, Carol spent her time caring for her family and enjoying the company of her wonderful neighbors, Larry and Diane, Anne, Irene and Richie at Cypress Lakes. With all the love and support from her family, friends and neighbors somehow Carol found time to become an expert card player! (Thank you to her card friends for making her Monday afternoons, Tuesday and Thursday evenings so much fun!)

Carol was passionate about her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the grandmother that always “showed-up”. As a number one fan of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Nana Summers (Carol) loved attending their soccer matches, concerts and shows.

Carol is survived by her loyal and dedicated daughter Troy McEntee Bermudez (Frank), sons Andrew John McEntee, Philip Wenzofsky (Maggie), and David Summers (Lisa). She is remembered by her grandchildren Leah, Sarah (Jorge), Ben (Elissa), Frank (Cynthia), Joey (Liam), Chad, Brent, Jenny (Michael) and great-grandchildren Brielle, Jordan, Shanya, Logan and Layla.

A visitation for Carol will be held Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33417. Mass of the Resurrection will take place Friday, August 25, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 345 S Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33415.
