Ann Tyler of West Palm Beach, FL, and until recently, St. David’s, PA, passed away on March 24, 2023 at the West Palm Beach, FL residence that she shared with her loving husband, Michael E. Tyler. Ann was born in Haddonfield, NJ on October 4, 1947. A graduate of Haddonfield HS (’66), LaSalle College and later, Rowan University for her master’s in education, Ann had an exemplary career as a High School Special Education teacher and was revered by her hundreds of students over several decades.
A lover of the arts, international travel or just sitting by a campfire, Ann was a joy to be around. Her bright smile and genuine interest in the lives of friends; old and new made everyone feel right at home in her presence. Mike and Ann traveled extensively, studying each foreign destination prior to their arrivals to better immerse themselves into their new discoveries. Few people clicked a camera more than Ann as she documented family and travels extensively. “Say Cheese” were seemingly her two favorite words.
A member of several country clubs in both PA and FL, Ann’s skill on the tennis court was respected by team mates and adversaries alike and matched only by her love of entertaining friends and family. Never a grandkids birthday went by without cake, gifts, or clicks.
She could host a dinner party almost as well as her pre-deceased mother Ruth Craven. To be a beneficiary to even one of their grand dining events was an invite to exquisite food, great conversation and good fun.
Ann made the decision to retire early to spend more time with her beloved family, pursue travel, engage in her charity work, and hang with friends. Besides Mike, Ann is survived by her daughter Beth Schwab, her stepson Christopher Tyler (Stephanie) and stepdaughter, Stephanie Tyler, along with her eight cherished grandchildren. Ann lived twice the life in 2/3rds the time. She will continue to be sorely missed and forever admired and adored. God Bless “Grams”.
A memorial service will be held to honor Ann’s life on June 8, 2023 (11:00 AM) at the Church of the Redeemer, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Quattlebaum-FH.com for the Tyler family.
