It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yong-Han Kim, who passed away peacefully on December 13 2021. Born on May 27, 1940 in Koyang-Kun, Korea. Yong-Han Kim later married his wife, Sang-Sun Kim in 1971. He immigrated to Canada with dreams of establishing new family roots for future generations of the Kim Family. Along with his wife, they settled in Scarborough, Ontario where they raised their 2 sons Walter and John.
As a cabinet maker, he would often write his name and a couple of sentences about himself on the undersides of the cabinetry. With much of the cabinetry he built destined for Universities such as Harvard, Yale, and University of Toronto, he felt joy in “leaving his secret mark” in these institutions.
He enjoyed fishing, travelling and most of all, golfing. He was a family man and loved with his whole heart. He will be remembered as a man who provided, and sacrificed for his family, and who loved his family unconditionally.
He was a loving grandfather to Landon (Jae-Yong), Marcus (Jae-Min) and Owen (Jae-Sun). We will love and miss him forever and have no doubt that he will be watching over us. We are ever so grateful for all the comforts and opportunities you have provided for us, for teaching us, and for your guidance throughout our life time. Your legacy will life on through the family that you have established.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.giffenmackscarborough.com for the KIM family.
