Ronald Barclay Brooks

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our Dad, Ronald Barclay Brooks after a very hard fought battle (a true Scotsman till the end) at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the age of 80, surrounded by his loving children.

Loving husband of the late Estelle (2019) and will be greatly missed by his children Natalie Jane (Dave), Lesley (Michael), Robin (Robert) and Andrew; Proud Papa to grandchildren Jordan (Sara), Ashley (Kyle), Matthew, Jessica (Daniel), Haley, Madison, Victoria and Olivia; great-grandchildren Logan, Isaac, Charlotte, Mya, Elise, Sophie, Julia and another new great grand-baby on the way. Brother-in-law to Anne, Alec and Allan (late Margaret) and Uncle Ron to Carri & Julie.

“Ronnie” as he was known to many, was never at a loss for words and loved to strike up conversations, whether you were a friend, neighbor or complete stranger and always a kind heart and giver for those in need. Family was everything to him and his greatest accomplishment in life was the role of Husband, Dad & Papa.

Special thank you to all the caring staff and Nurses at Centenary Hospital, Lakeridge Health Ajax/Pickering, Lakeridge Health Oshawa, especially to the Palliative Care Unit, 4th Floor for their exceptional care and compassion throughout this journey and to our Dad’s neighbors who have looked out for him, your thoughtfulness and kindness truly touched him and we can’t thank you enough.

Private services have been entrusted to Giffen-Mack Funeral Home & Cremation Centre.
