Ronnie was born on August 14, 1961, in Des Moines to Kenneth Russell and Madeline Lorraine (Pray) Burnett. He graduated from Ruby Van Meter High School and lived in West Des Moines, Ankeny, and Arizona. Ronnie worked for several years at Baker’s Cafeteria in Des Moines.
He had many hobbies, which included fishing and cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs. He also enjoyed coloring with his markers, sorting his flash cards, and playing with his red firetrucks. Ronnie loved music and helping around the house by doing dishes, picking up sticks, and mowing the lawn.
Ronnie is survived by his brother Dick (Bobbie) Burnett; sisters Linda Cain, Jan Davis, and Joyce Pardock; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 9, at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning until service time. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics of Iowa or Reece’s Rainbow.
Ronnie’s family would like to thank the nursing staff at Polk City Nursing & Rehabilitation for the care and compassion that they provided to Ronnie over the past three years.
