Born January 28, 1928, Molly was one of three children of Elmer and Mary Miller of Des Moines. She attended Callanan Middle School and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1946. Molly first went to Drake University and then transferred to Iowa State where she was an active member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. After graduation in 1950, she married Richard Bryan of Estherville, Iowa.
Molly and Dick enjoyed 40 years of marriage before Dick died in 1991. Throughout their lives together, Molly supported her husband in the business community of Des Moines. She became an enthusiastic volunteer in civic activities, especially with early childhood education programs.
While raising a family, Molly and Dick enjoyed their cottage at Spirit Lake in northern Iowa. Later they became snowbirds wintering in South Texas around Brownsville. They established many friendships wherever they went. Molly still went down to Rancho Viejo until 2010.
Molly has been a dedicated member of the HX Chapter of P.E.O. as well as Frisbie Club of Plymouth Church.
She is survived by her three children, Jeffrey, Sally, and Susan; her four grandchildren: Sarah, Pablo, Laurel and Cirrelda Beth; plus newly born great-grandchild, Jazlynn. Molly was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, and her older sister, Joan Miller, and brother, Edward Miller.
Molly will be remembered by family and friends as a gracious and genuine person with a wonderful sense of humor. Her unique and beautiful soul now continues on its journey.
Special gratitude is extended to Eric Holm, MD and the staffs of Wesley Acres, Palliative and Hospice programs of UnityPoint, ALS Chapter of Iowa and Kavanagh House for providing excellent care during her final illness with ALS.
