Jack Arnold Shedd, 76, passed away November 25, 2023 in Ankeny surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2023 at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time at McLaren’s. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
Jack was born January 4, 1947 in Des Moines to John and Betty (Hargis) Shedd. He graduated from East High School in 1965. Jack worked as a clerk for the Des Moines Post Office for 34 years before his retirement in 2013. He was an avid golfer and loved all sports, hunting, fishing, dancing, and horseback riding.
Jack is survived by his children, Brett Shedd and Julie Miller both of Polk City; grandson, Jory Miller; brothers, Jerry (Aimee) Shedd and Bob Shedd; sister, Sheryl (Mike) Silvers; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew John Shedd; brothers, Keith and Jim Shedd.
