Christopher Robert Fraizer, 53, passed away at his home on December 7, 2024. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2024 with a time of sharing at 7 p.m. at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines.
Chris was born May 15, 1971 in Des Moines to Robert and Donna (Schneider) Fraizer. He graduated in 1990 from Valley High School and then attended the Brown Broadcasting School in Minneapolis, MN. Chris worked for the Iowa Correctional Institute for Women in Mitchellville, IA for 23 years and most recently as a Public Safety Officer at UnityPoint. He also volunteered with Big Brother and enjoyed riding his Harley, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and his rescue dog, Cali.
Chris is survived by his mother, Donna; brothers, Bryan and Matthew (Micah); several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; grandparents, Bob and Phyllis Fraizer and Chuck and Louise Schneider; and his dog, Cali.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa or The Food Bank of Iowa.
