and guide me for I fear
the journey’s end
I do not know what waits for me
beyond that farthest bend
You’ve sheltered and
protected me along
life’s narrow way; I’ll trust that
you’ll be with me as
I meet this final day.
So often in the years gone by,
you’ve held me in your hand,
Through trials and bitter twists
of fate I didn’t understand.
Sometimes you seemed to
stretch me just as far as I could go;
I know, dear Lord, it was your way
of helping me to grow.
Now though life’s light grows dimmer,
through your grace my doubts are gone
and I need not fear this journey, for I travel
Not alone!
