My Nino, 


Where do I even begin? Words alone cannot express my gratitude for raising me as a daughter. Everything I've learned and all I am is because of you. Nino, you taught me how to be strong. You taught me to walk with my head held high and proud and not give anyone the time of day to mess with me. You taught me the true value of family. You taught me how to laugh in good times and in bad times. You taught me that in life, just like baseball, there will be times when you slide so hard; all that matters is getting back up, dusting yourself off, and keep on going stronger than ever. Nino, I am going to miss you so very much. I am going to miss your loud laugh, your huge bear hugs, all your jokes, and hearing the phone announce that you're calling, hearing your voice over the phone asking how and what I'm doing. Nino, I'm going to miss you. My Nino, you may be gone but your presence in spirit is still with us. I will treasure each and every laugh and memory we shared. Although you're gone and took a chunk of my heart with you, I am at peace knowing that I've gained an angel. I know you and abuelita Carmen will be with me everywhere I go. My Nino, this is not a goodbye, but a see you later. Please watch over us and keep us strong. I love you Nino, with all my heart.
