Sandra Escobar Garcia

Sandra Escobar Garcia, 55, passed away on March 28, 2025. She peacefully spent her final moments surrounded by her loving mother, father, children, grandchildren, brother and his family. Sandra will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.

A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she lived a life full of passion and purpose. As a talented hairstylist, she spent many years making people feel beautiful and confident, building lifelong relationships with her clients. Her work was not just a career, but a true calling. Later in life, Sandra also found great fulfillment as a teaching assistant, where her care, wisdom, and nurturing spirit touched the lives of countless students. She was proud to pass on her love for teaching to her daughter, whom she worked with, supported and guided as she began her own journey in the field.

Sandra had an infectious sense of humor and a quick wit, always ready with a joke or funny story to brighten anyone’s day. She had an uncanny ability to make those around her laugh, creating an atmosphere of joy wherever she went. In addition to her work, she was passionate about decorating her home, enjoying countless DIY projects and finding creative ways to make every space feel inviting. Shopping was another of her great pleasures, and she could always be found scouting for the next perfect item to add to her collection.

Her family was her greatest love, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Whether it was celebrating holidays, hosting family gatherings, or simply sharing quiet moments at home, she filled her family’s lives with love and laughter.

Though Sandra was married for 25 years to her high school sweetheart, she faced life’s challenges with strength and resilience, including a divorce, and remained a source of support and love for her children through every season of life.

Sandra is survived by her children; Valerie Valdez (Andrew), Caleb Garcia (Yvonne), Joseph Garcia, her grandchildren; Sofia Harris Valdez, Noah Garcia, Riley Valdez, her parents; Azalia Rios (Joe), Mario Robert Escobar (Merida), siblings; Bobby Escobar (Olga), Matthew Escobar, Marcus Escobar, her nieces and nephew; Syanne Escobar, Sidney Escobar and Carlos Escobar, and host of family and friends.

A visitation for Sandra will be held Friday, April 4, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM at Funeraria del Angel Highland Funeral Home, 6705 North Fm 88, Weslaco, Texas 78596. A service will occur Friday, April 4, 2025 at 7:00 PM. A chapel service will occur Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 10:00 AM. A burial will occur Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Highland Memorial Park, 6705 North Fm 88, Weslaco, Texas 78596
