Olivia Garza

Olivia Garza was called to be with out Lord on March 2, 2018 at the age of 87. Olivia is preceded in death by her father Hilario Olivarez; mother Rebeca Elizondo, husband Santana Garza Sr.; son Santana Garza Jr.; granddaughter Becky Marie Lejia; great grandson Noe Stephen Leija; brother Esperion "speedy" Olivarez; sister Fidencia O. Salmon and nephew Dario Salmon. Olivia is survived by her daughter Marie Olivarez Garza Leija (Noe Lejia & Beri); brothers Demetrio Olivarez (Elida), Rene Olivarez (Braulia); sisters Dolores O. Griffin (Ronnie) and Dora O. Lopez (Israel); grandchildren Marylou Leija -Shutu (Charles), Jeanine G. Leija-Jaquez (G. Anthony), Noelia Leija-Bao (Emmanuel); great grandchildren Roxy Guerrero, Jasmine Guerrero, Ramiro Guerrero, Olivia Rae Hernandez, Jessica Rendon, Ricardo F. Guerrero, Demetrius C. Brooks, Brian Ruiz, Jose Ruiz, Sarai Ruiz, Melodi A. Leija, Jayden R. Guerrero, Muru Bao, Zawadi Bao.

Olivia O. Garza was married to Santana Garza Sr. on December 12, 1945. They were married for 51 years at the time her husband passed. She was a loving wife, waking up at 4am to make breakfast tacos for her husband everyday. Together they also helped raise their granddaughter Marylou, Jeanine and Noelia. She loved to tend to her "birds of Paradise". She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great grandchildren. She and Santana loved to go to the "bailes". Olivia will be deeply missed by all those who knew her but she will never be forgotten.

Visitation Services for Olivia will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Highland Funeral Home , 6705 N FM 88 , Weslaco , Texas 78596.With A Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church , 109 S Illinois Ave, Weslaco , Texas 78596. Followed with the Interment at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, TX.
